Historical Photos
When starting to look for pictures of historical pictures I was drawn to the American Civil War. From this I was lead on the trail to finding out who in my family was involved in this war. My family originates from Dover Tennessee near Fort Donelson. I had heard stories from my father and grandfather about their great grandparents being involved in the war. So, I started to look into my family history a little more and found some of my relatives date as far back as the American Revolutionary war. I found a Facebook group that is dedicated to the Brandons of Tobaccoport Tennessee that can back up most of the information that I found.
From this I was able to talk to my dad about some more of my family history and find out about my great-grandfather, grandfather and father. It has been a load of information that makes me think I might need to look into an Ancestory.com membership to keep track of all this stuff.
This first three pictures were found from The Library of Congress's archives. The rest were gathered from family and distant cousins from Tennessee.
